Founded in 1970, West Shore Meals on Wheels is a 501(c)(3) corporation. Meals on Wheels is a non-profit, humanitarian, non sectarian program serving persons regardless of race, color, or creed. With a hot nutritious meal, and a brief visit, we attempt to meet some of the needs of our clients, so they may continue to live independently.

  • West Shore Meals on Wheels is a nonprofit volunteer-run organization. We are your friends and neighbors ,some of us retired, others stay-at-home Moms.
  • We provide home-delivered meals to persons who are unable to prepare and/or purchase a hot meal for themselves due to age, physical or mental infirmity, or who are convalescing from illness or injury.
  • Nutritionally balanced meals are delivered weekdays (Monday-Friday) between 9:45 and 11:30 AM to client’s homes except holidays. We appreciate a call if client won’t be home during that time as we can leave the meal in a cooler.
  • Our office hours are 9:30-11:00AM weekdays except holidays. The West Shore YMCA provides an after-hours answering service connecting potential clients and relaying messages to an on-call West Shore Meals on Wheels Volunteer.
  • We do not receive state or federal funding. Donations enable us to help others.

  • Over 100 volunteers sign up new clients, serve as Board members, schedule volunteers, work in the office, and deliver meals.
  • We welcome all new volunteers. We have regular delivery teams as well as substitutes. Office and phone volunteers are also needed.
  • Camp Hill Presbyterian Church provides us with office space as well as a staging area for meal delivery teams.
  • We are often the only human contact our clients have throughout their day
  • We do not deliver on Christmas, New Years Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day and Thanksgiving. Our delivery teams give clients a printed reminder prior to the holiday.
  • The current cost of meals isĀ  $25/week based on $5/day
  • We require notice of two business days for cancellations
  • Cancellation of meal delivery due to inclement weather is announced on all major local TV stations
  • Our delivery teams cover the areas of New Cumberland, Wormleysburg, Lemoyne, Camp Hill, Lower Allen Township, and others in the 17011 zip code area.
